MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to advance young people in three major areas: Character building principles, sports, and education. To provide structured activities in a family environment in order to inspire, challenge and educate the youth of our community in their formative years. To develop the mind, body and spirit of young people while giving them a social sense of teamwork, discipline and self-worth.

President's Message - The History

The Northern Sports League. Inc. was formed in 1984 from a vision.
Founder Edward Tynes envisioned a family based sports league that would incorporate character building principles as well as sportsmanship. The NSL's inaugural season started with just three teams, Calvary Tabernacle, The Church of the Transfiguration, and SL Kevin's Episcopal Church. By God's grace, along with 24 years of faithful service to the South Florida community, we now average over 45 teams per season. We have now positively influenced the lives of thousands of young men and women, many of who have gone on to participate in high school, collegiate and professional sports. These young people have embraced our vision and are carrying the message to college campuses and( professional arenas around the country. We believe that our investment of starting at the grassroots with today's youth will help to build a better community for the future.
